Inbound marketing is a fantastic way to reach a large number of potential customers without having to spend a fortune. It is especially useful for small to medium sized businesses that need to stay competitive. For those of you who are looking to build your
inbound marketing
strategy, we have laid out the five most important actions that you should take.
-
Overhaul Your Webpage
Your webpage should be at the center of your inbound marketing strategy. In most cases, it is where you can actually close the sale. When launching your strategy make sure that your website is optimized for search engines. There are two different strategies to consider:
On-Page Strategy
A strong on-page strategy consists of having the right keywords to attract search engines and having strong content. You should also reevaluate your meta tags to see if they are as effective as they can be.
Off-Page Strategy
An off-page strategy consists of having as many links into your site as possible. This is achieved by posting content on article directories, putting links on your social media channels, and asking reputable websites to connect to your site. -
Have a Blog
A blog is an excellent tool to turn potential leads into customers. Make sure that the content uses well researched keywords and that those keywords are used as frequently as possible without compromising the contents integrity. You also need to make sure that you are making frequent updates to your blog in order to keep it relevant. -
Utilize Your Social Media Channels
If your business isn’t already represented on at least one social media site, it should be. Social media is a great way to attract new leads and have conversations with your customers. Like with blogging, make sure to post frequently and to create links that refer your followers to your other inbound marketing channels. -
Use a Pay Per Click Service
Pay per click (PPC) ads are a will bring a lot more traffic to your site in a very short amount of time. Make sure that the language of the PPC ad isn’t so much “buy me” as it is “do you want to learn more about____.” Overtly selling is far less effective than offering useful information. -
Track All of Your Efforts with Analytics
In order to see how effective your inbound marketing strategy is you’ll need to watch the various analytics. This includes web analytics as well as social media analytics. Focus not just on growing traffic but on how potential leads are interacting with your brand as well. Most inbound marketing channels are designed with interaction in mind, so make sure that you are actually engaging with your customers.
